Technology in English and Language Arts Advantages of Integrating Technology  In today's 21st century world, technology is all around us. According to the text, Integrating Educational Technology into Teaching, " n ew strategic knowledge and social practices will be required, and finally, teachers’ roles in New Literacy classrooms will be shifting and extremely important" (Roblyer, 2016, p. 262). Materials Generators By just recently beginning to use google add-ons, I have found several that I know will be beneficial to me as a future teacher! One specific materials generator add-on I have found is the QR code generator. This is an efficient and easy way to create simple QR codes you can use in the classroom. All you have to do is choose the "add-ons" options and search for "QR code generator" and it will download onto your document! It will create multiple codes at a time so you can easily use this for small groups in the classroom! https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/qr-code-generator/lofihghpipjlmpcnigcopahlpaopcoaa?hl=en-US Another great materials generator I enjoy and that would work great in the classroom is  http://www.readwritethink.org/classroom-resources/student-interactives/printing-press-30036.html . This website allows students to create various forms of student work such as brochures or flyers. According to the textbook, Integratin...
Module 2 Search Engines Search engines are beneficial tools for student and teacher learning. Students can more effectively find credible information on an array of topics that are useful for projects, papers, and beyond. When we know what websites and resources have credible information, and where we can find these websites, we can find credible information on the topic we are learning. Along with being able to find credible information, students and teachers can also have a more precise search by using keywords or advanced searches. (Byrne, 2012, p.183) Website Evaluation Video https://youtu.be/RPxJKr3r8Kg This video highlights 5 key concepts to focus on when determining if a website is credible. I loved how this video was animated well to keep the viewer engaged. I would use this in my classroom to not only focus on website credibility, but professionalism and how that can be portrayed online. Favorite Professional Websites http://www.scholastic.com/home/  is a wonde...
